Rachel Swirsky's short fiction has appeared in a number of magazines and anthologies and been nominated for the Hugo, the Sturgeon, the Locus Award, and the World Fantasy Award. In 2011, her novella "The Lady Who Plucked Red Flowers Beneath the Queen's Window" won the Nebula Award. Parts of "Again and Again and Again" are based on her family. In particular, on her father, who used to say 'when I was a kid, all we had to do to make adults sick was grow out your hair. I pity kids today."
